The visionary production of ‘Cry, Desert’, with its captivating, thought-provoking story, includes a deeply evocative and emotional soundtrack performed by some of the world’s greatest musicians and dramatic artists.
The evolution of the music has been influenced greatly by Mark Warford's humanitarian initiatives. "Although it certainly takes it toll, I believe I'm very fortunate to witness both sides of what we humans are capable of. I see incredible beauty marred by unforgiveable acts of contempt for people AND the planet, but I also see firsthand how amazing we can be when we put our minds to doing great things. We all hope for a positive legacy in our lives and I believe deep down that it is the one uniting factor in all of us. The song, 'You Win Me', which features prominently in the show, is somewhat of a testament to that desire. Not in a 'rose-colored glasses' way, but in a real "this makes you stronger" way. I wanted to write a collection of songs that evolved on many different levels and I am over the moon with the result. Whether in the context of the storyline or listening seperately, it'll grab you by the heart and squeeze - all in a good way, of course."
